Electric Daisy Carnival

Arcadia, Snap’s AR agency, had penned a multi-year deal as LiveNation’s exclusive AR provider. The goal was to enhance the live music experience with innovative AR that brought new utility and immersion to events.

EDC in Las Vegas was our first collaboration.

We started by honing in on a very specific problem to solve with AR: Friends make the festival, and it’s hard to find each other in the midst of the crowd, darkness, and low connectivity on the ground. It’s also challenging to orient yourself and navigate among stages and attractions.

Friend FindAR

We debuted a first-of-its-kind AR tool called “Friend FindAR” to help people find their lost festies. It worked off a Snap Map API integration, delivering accurate geo-tracking guidance down to 10ft.

AR Compass

Arcadia also created an interactive 3D map featuring an accurate geometric recreation of the 43.5MM square-foot festival grounds. Festival-goers could manipulate it in space, select stages and see set lists, and receive accurate navigation guidance.

Daisies & Night Owl

Beyond utility, Arcadia created two AR experiences for pure immersion and fun. In one, giant electric daisies sprang up from the ground, towering over the festival. In the other, a larger-than-life night owl, the symbol of the festival, swooped through the skies of Las Vegas.
